Fabrication specialists enhance Altus maintenance mission
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Gary Farmer, Joe Balderas and Greg Crosswhite, 97th Maintenance Directorate A-Team sheet metal mechanics, install fastener retainers on a newly trimmed U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft pylon engine fairing, at Hangar 517, Feb. 23, 2015. Fabrication is in charge of maintaining and repairing the C-17, as well as, the U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft, and it is responsible for welding, machining, sheet metal, composite structures, metal tubing, flight control cales and corrosion control.
