Altus AFB conducts quarterly exercise
U.S. Air Force Capt. Eric Miller, an instructor pilot with the 97th Training Squadron and Maj. Chris Black, an instructor pilot with the 58th Airlift Squadron, prepare to land a C-17 Globemaster III during the Altus Quarterly Exercise (ALTEX), Nov. 16, 2017 at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. The ALTEX program was established to broaden instructor enrichment opportunities and provide exposure to realistic and emerging tactical scenarios. This program creates opportunities for C-17 enrichment training for permanent party instructors, C-17 Faculty Training Course training requirements, KC-135 Stratotanker and C-17 USAF Weapons School preparation, and combat formation training for KC-135 permanent party instructors. The exercise demonstrated combat entry into a semi-permissive environment. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Kenneth W. Norman)
