Col Audrin C. Walker, commander, 96th Bombardment Wing, steps down out the first B-47 Stratojet assigned to Altus AFB. The Stratojet was the first all-jet engine bomber. Initially paired with the radial engine KC-97 Stratotanker, the duo represented one of the primary deterrents to nuclear war.
