New boom platform improves quality of life for KC-135 Airmen
U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Jon Thomas, the Air Mobility Command deputy commander (right) speaks to two boom operators about the new boom operator instructor platform inside a KC-135 Stratotanker on Nov. 4, 2019, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. On Nov. 20, 2019, the first platform prototype replaced the old platform in the KC-135 at the 97th Air Mobility Wing. Soon, the new boom platform design will be implemented in every KC-135 throughout the Air Force, keeping Warrior Airmen safe, prepared and mission ready.
