2011 Combined Federal Campaign Published Sept. 6, 2011 By 97 Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs 97 Air mobility Wing ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- -- The 2011 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) kicked off at Altus Air Force Base on September 6th. The CFC allows members of the military and government employees to donate money to worthy causes and help those less fortunate than themselves. The base's campaign goal is 100,000 dollars this year. "We have set a lofty goal, but we think with some hard work and generous contributions, the men and women of Team Altus can make it happen" said 54 Air Refueling Squadron Capt Greg Auerbach, wing point of contact and Local Federal Coordinating Committee Board Member. "We want to make 100% contact - making sure everyone has a chance to learn about the CFC and donate if they want to." Group and Squadron POCs will be contacting every member of Team Altus, both civilian and military to explain what the CFC is and to solicit contributions. More than 4000 charities participate in this world-wide event, with many Altus area organizations taking part. This year's slogan is "50 Years of Caring" Capt Auerbach said the CFC gives airmen and other federal employees the opportunity to do just that. It allows them to show local, state, national, and international charities that they "care." And giving is easier than ever, with federal employees able to donate to the charity of their choice with a direct contribution or even a payroll deduction. The campaign comes to a close on October 17th. If you would like more information, contact Captain Auerbach at 481-5946 or go to http://www.cfcnorthtexas.org.
