The Altus Officers Spouse Club proudly announces the Merit Scholarship Programs for 2009. In years past, AOSC has awarded scholarships to assist high school students and military spouses attain their higher education goals. The Base Thrift Shop profits are the main contributor for these scholarships.

The first program provides opportunities to dependents of active duty, retired, reservist or deceased service members of any rank or rate from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Applicants must be high school seniors whose sponsor or parent must live within 50 miles of Altus Air Force Base. Applicants must be planning to enroll in college or another higher education program in the fall of 2009 or spring 2010.

The second program provides opportunities to spouses of active duty, retired, reservist or deceased service members of any rank or rate from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. The spouse of the applicant must live within 50 miles of Altus Air Force Base. If the service member spouse is deceased, the applicant must live within the 50 mile radius. Applicants must be planning to enroll in college or another higher education program in the fall of 2009 or spring 2010.
