ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin will deliver a speech at Altus Air Force Base's annual Women's History Month celebration, March 16th, 2017.
The theme of this year's program is "Trailblazing Women in Business and Industry," and will serve to highlight the contributions of women throughout history. The program will begin at 11 a.m. and last approximately one hour.
As recently as three decades ago, the subject of women's history was a little-known and often unexplored part of American history. Air Force history is filled with bold female Airmen who challenged the status quo and dared to fly, fight and win. Female service members have broken barriers even before the Air Force stood up as a separate service in 1947.
If you are interested in attending the news conference, please call Public Affairs at 580-481-7700 or e-mail at 97amw.pa@us.af.mil by 2 p.m. on March 14th. All media attending the event should plan to meet a PA representative at the south gate at 9:45 a.m. for base access.
