Altus AFB Hosting National Police Week

            ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - The 97th Security Forces Squadron will be hosting National Police Week May 15-20, 2017 to honor all federal, state and local police officers that have been killed or disabled in the line of duty.

 

Events and demonstrations will be held at various locations around the base and local community, showcasing the skills and measures Security Forces must take in their emergency response activities.

 

            Events throughout the week include:

-           May 15 - Wreath laying ceremony at the base flag pole, beginning at 7 a.m., followed by an all-day guarding of the wreath, and finally, concluded by a retreat ceremony at 4:15 p.m.

-           May 16 - Police Week Shootout at the Altus Police Department Firing Range beginning at 8:30 a.m.

-           May 17 - 97th SFS "Gut Check" Challenge on Altus AFB, with a 6:30 a.m. registration and 7 a.m. start time.

-           May 19 - SFS Golf Tournament at Windy Trails, with a 8:30 a.m. registration and 9 a.m. tee time.
