  • National Nurses Week: a healthy dose of appreciation

    Every year, May 6-12 is recognized as National Nurses Week, a weeklong celebration ending on International Nurses Day, May 12th. For nurses of Mobility’s Hometown, National Nurses Week was filled with appreciation, gifts and food. The 97th Medical Group members showed their appreciation to the nursing staff by giving them all goody bags and treating them to a free lunch.
  • AMC command team visits Mobility’s Hometown

    Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing showcased their training mission to the Air Mobility Command leadership team during a visit here Feb. 8, 2021. Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost, AMC commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Brian Kruzelnick, AMC command chief, toured the installation to witness the capabilities of the 97th Operations Group and to meet with Airmen.
  • 97 AMW, VFW, local community celebrate Veterans Day

    Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4876 members and the local community gathered to honor veterans during a ceremony Nov. 11, 2020 at the Jackson County War Memorial in Altus, Oklahoma.
  • 97 AMW Hispanic Heritage Spotlight - TSgt Ezekiel Brito

    National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors are from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. However, for U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Ezekiel Brito, the NCO in charge of KC-135 Stratotanker aircrew development, assigned to the 97th Training Squadron, every day is Hispanic Heritage month for him and his family.

    The 97th Air Mobility Wing Medical Group celebrated 1,000 days without operational errors. In the medical world, this is a significant accomplishment, as it can mean the difference between life and death. 1,000 days with an incident is 1,000 days with a serious safety event.
