Altus AFB kicked off the Air Force Assistance Fund campaign March 3, 2014 and it will continue until April 11. All base personnel are encouraged to participate in the event.

This year's campaign started with a Kickoff Breakfast that gave squadron key workers information to give to their respective units.

The AFAF is comprised of four charities, including the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. Lemay Foundation, the Air Force Enlisted Village and the Air Force Aid Society.

Donors can donate to either of the charities or have a donation split equally to contribute to each.

"It's an investment to future generations, to someone behind you," said Master Sgt. Jennifer Wheeler, AFAF assistant installation project officer.

Last year, the Altus AFAF campaign raised $43,000. The goal this year is to reach $50,000.

The campaign schedule includes fundraisers such as a Mustache March competition toward the end of the campaign and a Bowl-A-Thon scheduled for March 14.

Anyone wishing to participate can obtain a donation form from their squadron's key worker.
