Military families gathered along the streets to watch teachers from Rivers Elementary School and Airmen from the base Youth Center, 97th Security Forces Squadron and the 97th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department participate in a Month of the Military Child parade on April 28, 2020 at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

Altus AFB honors USAFA Class of 2020 with ‘Pegasus’ flyover

The hats of graduates were not the only things in the air above the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) during graduation week. Two KC-46 Pegasus aircraft assigned to the 56th Air Refueling Squadron and their aircrews supported the USAFA class of 2020 by executing a flyover of the Academy April 17, 2020.

Importance of Mental Health Q&A's

Between rising COVID-19 concerns and mandatory health precautions in effect nationwide, there are many factors that can affect a person's mental health. Maintaining a strong and positive state-of-mind during this time can be difficult, but there are many resources available that can help. The leadership team from the 97th Medical Group Mental Health Clinic took the time to answer the most commonly asked questions regarding the importance of mental health. The team includes: Maj. Mighty 97th uses cutting-edge robot to exterminate germs

The 97th Air Mobility Wing acquired a LightStrike Germ-Zapping Robot, March 27, 2020, at Altus Air Force Base. According to studies, Germ-Zapping Robots have been proven to quickly destroy infectious germs and bacteria using intense pulsed xenon ultraviolet (UV) light.
