  • Everyone counts in the 2020 Census

    97th Air Mobility Wing Airmen, along with the rest of the nation, will be required to participate in the 2020 Census, April 1, 2020. Military members and their families stationed or TDY to Altus Air Force Base, Okla., are responsible for participating in this count. Altus AFB is expected to have every member counted no later than May 15.

    Heisman Trophy winner and former running back, Herschel Walker, talked about his experience with mental health when visiting the 97th Air Mobility Wing, Feb. 12, 2020. While here, he was able to host two talking sessions highlighting mental health through the Patriot Support Program.

    The 97th Air Mobility Wing Airman and Family Readiness Center created the Spouse Employment Program to help military spouses who may face these difficulties find a job in Altus, Dec. 2019, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.
  • Another ‘step’ in maintaining the mission

    At the 97th Air Mobility Wing, aircrew are trained daily on the C-17 Globemaster III, KC-46 Pegasus and the KC-135 Stratotanker. While training occurs, the 97th Maintenance Group continuously works to keep the mission moving forward. When the 97th MXG discovers a need for a unique item, the fabrication flight can provide in-house creation. In this case, the flight constructed a three step staircase used to support the C-17 Engine Maintenance Stands.
