2nd Lt. Cory Wagner is the Company Grade Officer of the quarter July - Sept.

"I would like to credit my award to all of the Airmen in the vehicle management flight. Every day these Airmen come to work with a positive attitude and an admirable work ethic. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys and gals to work with," Lieutenant Wagner said.

Lieutenant Wagner elevated his flight to a new level being the first squadron or wing to earn an excellent Logistics Compliance Assessment Program rating. He managed his flights training program with a 100 percent pass rate. Lieutenant Wagner directed the application of scratch resistant vinyl to 32 tactical vehicles, saving other squadrons $40,000 a year in vehicle abuse costs. He procured a hazardous-material-free parts washer, saving $2,500 annually in hazardous waste disposal.

Lieutenant Wagner had 17 de-icers and other snow equipment prepared 30 days ahead of schedule for winter operations, during the wing's summer rebuild program. He was the budget approving official for the wing's largest and most active government purchase card program, with 100 percent accountability for 3,000 transactions.

"It's great to be recognized for your work; however, the experience and knowledge I've gained this past year greatly outweighs any award I could receive," Lieutenant Wagner said.

During the quarter, the Lieutenant also broadened his leadership abilities by attending a civilian supervisor course, scoring 100 percent on the end of course exam. He implemented procedures leading to Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspector praising the best environmental and safety program seen to date.

Aside from his efforts at the base, Lieutenant Wagner worked to improve his community. He was the mission support group point of contact for 2011 Air Education Training and Command Symposium, acting as the logistics lynchpin for the city of Altus information booth in San Antonio, Texas. He coordinated the MSG's participation in the Altus dove hunt. 190 doves were taken, decreasing the risk to flight operations.

"I would recommend to others to take care of the people they work with and get involved in the base and city of Altus community," Lieutenant Wagner said.

Lieutenant Wagner graduated from Downs High School in Kansas, and still has family in the area. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Construction Science Management from Kansas State University.

"There are a lot of diverse career fields in the Logistics Readiness Squadron and I am honored to be able to represent the vehicle management flight," Lieutenant Wagner said.
