Capt. Richard R. Parent, 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron director of operations, is the company grade officer of the quarter here, July - September 2010.

Captain Parent made history when he led operations for 382 personnel during the 2010 Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspection and received the first-ever "excellent" rating given by the Air Education Training and Command. He had zero mission delays due to LRS. He also reinvigorated the squadron's training focus and increased self aid buddy care statistics by 25 percent.

"This award is not about me or what I did," Captain Parent said. "It's a reflection of the LRS team and their accomplishments."

Outside of the office, Captain Parent led Altus AFB varsity softball to fifth place in the state tournament, and also led LRS to its highest softball playoff finish in six years. He also encouraged two flights to volunteer for Airmen Against Drunk Driving, saving 31 Airmen.

"My work ethic and passion comes from my mom and dad," Captain Parent said.
