Jennifer Seidl 97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Michael Correra is the 97th Air Mobility Wing Staff Supervisor of the Quarter, January to March 2010. Mr. Correra is the Financial Administrator Supervisor for the 97th Comptroller Squadron. Mr. Correra co-led the Ice Storm Zebra evacuation team for finance, accomplishing 29 briefings for 2,000-plus military members and their dependants disbursing $580,000 in payments. He led the way in processing 708 evacuation vouchers with more than a million dollars paid and a 98 percent accuracy rating. Additionally, Correra and his team maintained a 24-hour voucher turn-around, despite the fact they were processing more in one week than in a usual monthly average, a 400 percent increase in work. "I'd have to give credit for winning this award to the hard work and dedication of all of the Airmen and civilians in the Financial Services Flight. They are what make our flight the BEST Financial Services Office in AETC," said Mr. Correra. Additionally, Mr. Correra volunteered to attend the Financial Management Staff Officer Course, provided three dinners for the local Altus High School Swim Team to support the State Champions, and coordinated the base Men's Varsity Softball Team tryouts. "My motivation comes from my parents and the Air Force instilled Core values," he said. "My parents always told me that no matter what job or career path you take, always be the best at what you do. Also, when I tell someone that I'll get something done, I want that person to know it'll be done and it'll be done right." Along with winners throughout the year, Mr. Correra will be considered for the 97th Air Mobility Wing Staff Supervisor of the Year 2010 at the end of the year.
