The Deputy Director of the Military Officers Association of America, The Officer Placement Service, retired Col. Dan Koslov, will be briefing all officers and senior noncommissioned officers who plan to leave active, military service in the next one to five years at the Freedom Community Center from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on March 19.

This briefing is also for National Guard and Reserve personnel. The presentation is free and takes about two and a half hours. The presentation is geared toward officers, but those of all ranks, as well as spouses are welcomed. All who attend will receive a free copy of the lecture's companion book, titled "Marketing Yourself for a Second Career" -- a resource for the transition process.

The primary subjects to be discussed are: competitions for finding a job, perceptions civilian employers have of military personnel, planning a job search, résumés, cover letters and broadcast letters, how employers read résumés, networking and penetrating the hidden job market, preparing and conducting a successful interview, salary and benefit negotiations, and job rejection.

This lecture program was founded in 1982 and today MOAA annually provides this briefing to over 150 military installations throughout the world to an average of 80 attendees at each presentation.
