Altus Air Force Base welcomed Air Mobility Command civic leaders and senior leaders for an immersive visit, at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, April 8-10, 2026.

The group included U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Gerald Donohue, Interim Air Mobility Command deputy commander; Chief Master Sgt. Dennis Fuselier, 21st Air Force command chief; 27 Air Mobility Command civic leaders; and six Air Mobility Command support staff. Throughout the visit, the primary focus remained on meaningful interaction with Altus Airmen.

The group connected with instructors and technical training Airmen, participated in a flight simulator, completed an interactive parachute building demonstration and gained a firsthand look at how Altus develops the next generation of U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, KC-46 Pegasus, and KC-135 Stratotanker aircrew.

The visit highlighted the direct link between Altus’s training mission and Air Mobility Command’s operational success, as Airmen at Altus train on three of Air Mobility Command’s core aircraft—the C-17, KC-46 and KC-135. The visit also reinforced the long-standing partnership between the two bases, fostering meaningful dialogue and emphasizing how the training conducted at the 97th Air Mobility Wing directly strengthens Air Mobility Command’s global reach.
