U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Terri Jones accepted command of the 97th Mission Support Group from U.S. Air Force Col. Bill Spangenthal, 97th Air Mobility Wing commander, during a change of command ceremony inside Hangar 517 July 9, 2014.

Jones came from Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. and will take command of the 97th MSG from U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Greiner, who will assume responsibility as director of financial management for Air Mobility Command.

"I am firmly committed to finding the best leaders for this wing and Jones is one of them," said Spangenthal, the presiding officer for the ceremony. "She has been the absolute best at every job she's held throughout her career."

The ceremony also gave the inbound commander a chance to address the Airmen and civilians of the 97th MSG in attendance.

"I am humbled and honored to join your team," said Jones. "Your reputation precedes you and I can't wait to see you in action."

Before relinquishing command, Greiner imparted some last thoughts to the members of the 97th AMW. "I leave today with memories of people; people who I will cherish for the rest of my Air Force career and beyond."
