Every year, the Mighty 97th participates in one of the largest and most successful employee fundraising campaigns in the world, the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), and this year’s fundraiser will be kicking-off on Oct. 21, 2019, ending on Dec. 6, 2019. The CFC’s mission is to promote and support humanity through a program that is employee-focused and cost-efficient in providing federal employees the opportunity to improve quality of life. Unlike other charities, this campaign is the only authorized form of solicitation for all federal employees, retired military and civilian members. Although held once a year, the CFC continues a long-standing tradition of being one of the most successful charities in the world by raising over $93 million to charitable causes during the 2018 campaign. Since its creation by the Federal Government in 1961, federal employees have contributed more than $8.3 billion to charities through the CFC. There are hundreds of charities to donate to through the CFC, including Paws with a Cause and Habitat for Humanity. This annual charitable event allows Airmen of the Mighty 97th an opportunity to federally donate for a cause of their choice.
