Every year, May 6-12 is recognized as National Nurses Week, a weeklong celebration ending on International Nurses Day, May 12th. For nurses of Mobility’s Hometown, National Nurses Week was filled with appreciation, gifts and food.

The 97th Medical Group members showed their appreciation to the nursing staff by giving them all goody bags and treating them to a free lunch.

“We gave everybody a little bag filled with gifts to start off the week,” said Capt. Magdalena Cook, 97th Healthcare Operation Squadron family health clinic flight commander. “We wanted to make sure our nurses and technicians know we appreciate them and that they are doing a really good job here at the medical group.”

One member honored during nurses week is Tech. Sgt. Kenneth Holsey, 97th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron operational medical clinic flight noncommissioned officer in charge. He shared how he was thankful for the recognition, and appreciates all the work his team has accomplished in the last year.

“It’s much appreciated when your work is being noticed,” Holsey continued, “It’s hard sometimes, it’s a lot of work, but it’s all worth it, taking care of our Airmen.”
