The 97th Air Mobility Wing Command Post recently earned the 2012 Air Education and Training Command Large Command Post of the Year Award. Senior Airman Ashlie Riley, 97th AMW CP senior emergency actions controller, also earned the 2012 AETC CP Airman of the Year.

"Winning the AETC CP of the year award makes me feel that all the work we do as the 24 hour sentinels, eyes and ears of the wing commander, is appreciated and well awarded," said Senior Airman Hans Koenig, 97th AMW CP emergency actions controller.

This is the fourth time in the past seven years that the Command Post has won the AETC Large CP award, and the group has high hopes for a win at the Air Force level.

"This is a difficult award to win considering we are a training base, but our real world operational impact sets us above the rest," said Master Sgt. Susan Darby, 97th AMW CP superintendent. "This award continues to show the exemplary teamwork and work ethic of all our controllers. We continue to strive for excellence in every way. Hopefully we will see an Air Force Award for 2012 as well."
