Mr. Dave Pelino, 97th Contracting Squadron executive assistant, was recognized for his hard work in setting up an alternate central staging location for closed contract files. In the past, staged files had to be retrieved from the base central staging area with the help of the base records manager. He was able to eliminate this step and streamline the retrieval process by 95 percent. He accurately accounts for over 1,200 closed contracts. They are readily available to a staff of 33 in a matter of minutes instead of days and sometimes weeks. His innovative process was highlighted as a strength during the Consolidated Unit Inspection and was cited as a uniform approach to the closeout/staging process and documentation.
