Innovative Airman of the Week
ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Tech. Sgt. Jonathan Mathe, 97th Air Mobility Wing NCO in charge of chapel operations, was named Innovative Airman of the week, Sep. 3. Tech. Sgt. Mathe was recognized for his leadership in coordinating over 300 hours of volunteer support from across the Wing to set up Altus AFB's first Airman Resilience Center. His efforts rallied dozens of volunteers and utilized resources previously acquired by the chapel, saving the Wing over $10,000. In addition, he networked with the First Sergeant council and the Warrior 5/6 to integrate the Airman's Attic into the new Airman Resilience Center acquiring shelving, supervising set up, and ensuring a store quality atmosphere. Additionally, the Airman Resilience Center has become an ideal place for providing base support during events such as furlough, the recent apartment fires and the Care Luncheon.
