97 AMW to conduct mass casualty exercise Published Aug. 25, 2022 97 Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing will conduct a mass casualty exercise on August 31, 2022 at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma. This exercise will have minimal impact to the normal daily activities of AAFB residents and the local community. Base patrons may hear exercise alerts of the giant voice system and alert radio messages throughout the duration of the exercise. Emergency response vehicles, first responders and a survival flight helicopter will also respond accordingly to the exercise scenario. Exercises of this nature are critical to evaluate Department of Defense response actions and to prepare in the most realistic manner. Base and community personnel will continue to focus on improving response plans for the safety of everyone in the area.
