The main gate will be closed for approximately 10 minutes between 9:00 a.m. and 9:10 a.m. All base personnel and individuals with business on the installation are encouraged to avoid entry or exit during this time.

Base personnel, residents and visitors may also hear exercise alerts over the Giant Voice System, and alert radio messages from the hours of 9:30 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. The City of Altus will also activate sirens at approximately 9:00 am. Emergency response vehicles and first responders will be responding accordingly for this exercise.

Exercises of this nature are critical for evaluating Department of Defense response actions to a severe weather incident and to prepare for this in the most realistic manner.  Base and community personnel have been and will continue to be focused on improving response plans for the safety of everyone on the installation.
