    Be Prepared

    National Preparedness Month might be coming to an end, but Airmen should always be ready for a disaster. A natural disaster can happen without warning so Airmen should take preemptive measures to help themselves and their families.

  • 10 Minutes

    September is Suicide Prevention Month, dedicated to raise awareness to the subject and try to bring hope and enlightenment to people at risk. In a crisis, time is critical. According to the 97th Medical Operations Squadron Mental Health Clinic, 10 minutes can make a difference between life and death.

    Keeping a strong mindset

    There are many reasons people may want or need to seek mental help. Whether it is stopping a problem before it starts, or helping an ongoing issue, the 97th Medical Operations Squadron is always ready to lend a hand.

    Bro-pilots

    Capt. Kyle Kellett, a C-17 Globemaster III pilot, and Capt. Justin Kellett, C-5 galaxy pilot attended college together, went through Reserve Officers' Training Corps together and then both became pilots. Less than one percent of the population serves in the armed forces, and serving with your sibling is even more uncommon.

    Generators Keep Altus Air Force Base Running

     In January 2010, a severe ice storm formed two inches of ice on anything exposed to the elements, including the main power line leading into the City of Altus power station. The storm caused members of Altus Air Force Base to be without power or heat for 8 days. People had to seek shelter at Oklahoma City, Okla., Wichita Falls, Texas and some had
