Task Force Red Mammoth
97th Air Mobility Wing
April 28, 2022 | 0:54
Airmen from AAFB participated in Task Force RED MAMMOTH, an exercise to ensure student training can be accomplished while off station in the event of inclement weather threatening the base.
Task Force RED MAMMOTH consisted of eight C-17 Globemasters flying to Kelly Airfield in Texas, two KC-46 Pegasus’ flying to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana and eight KC-135 Stratotankers flying to Roswell Airport in New Mexico. All aircraft completed student training en route to their destinations, where they set up a mission-ready outpost.
