Airmen at Altus Air Force Base are taking the steps to look out for one another with Green Dot Training. The goal is to create green dots which are bystanders stepping in to stop abuse. Lisa Marie Mariglia says the Air Force is using the program to help drive prevention home.

"Green Dot is a program that was started on college campuses and the Air Force has adopted it and right now we're focusing on sexual assault, domestic violence and stalking and this is a prevention program."

The training focuses on the individual and how they can help in a situation involving interpersonal violence. Airmen take turns discussing everyday situations and how they can assist in creating a positive outcome. Staff Sergeant Torres felt the experience was personal and interactive.

"I believe that Green Dot training has helped a lot, I had a really positive experience today. They've done a great job of making it more personal, so it's not something you just feel like you're watching on a PowerPoint presentation, or something you just have to do to check the box."

And here at Altus Air Force Base, we are changing our community one green dot at a time. For the Mighty, I'm Senior Airman Bailey Janes.
