    The 97th Air Mobility Wing invited STARBASE students from across Oklahoma to learn about the career possibilities in the military and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) career fields, March 12, 2020, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.
  • 97 MSG gains new child care asset

    Airmen from 97th Mission Support Group developed a family child care facility program to assist with the high demand of family services and limited hours of the Child Development Center. The Family Child Care (FCC) program is a daycare center operated out of a private residence.
  • 97 CONF welcomes AFICC commander to Mobility’s Hometown

    The 97th Contracting Flight welcomed U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Alice Trevino, the Air Force Installation Contracting Center commander, to Altus Air Force Base, Okla., to familiarize and learn about the mission of the 97th CONF team March 5, 2020.
  • Altus AFB, City Create Task Forces to Address Quality of Life

    In Altus, Oklahoma, members from Altus Air Force Base and the city have come together to address quality of life issues facing both local and military residents. One group in particular, the Altus public-public and public-private (P4) committee, focuses on partnership to leverage needs and resources to improve the Altus community. After consistently hearing concerns arise regarding quality of life, the P4 committee stood up five task forces to address housing options, short-term lodging, cost and quality of life, spouse employment, and public relations.

    For the month of March, women warriors from across the 97th Air Mobility Wing, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla., shared and reflected on the importance of the heritage behind Women’s History Month.

    Two members of the 97th Air Mobility Wing have dedicated the last 21 years of their lives in service to the United States Air Force. Together, they have pursued careers through the armed forces and have seen diversity grow throughout the years.
  • Everyone counts in the 2020 Census

    97th Air Mobility Wing Airmen, along with the rest of the nation, will be required to participate in the 2020 Census, April 1, 2020. Military members and their families stationed or TDY to Altus Air Force Base, Okla., are responsible for participating in this count. Altus AFB is expected to have every member counted no later than May 15.
  • Obtaining financial stability by seeking assistance

    A key factor to mobility airpower is the ability to responsibly manage personal finance in order to fully aid the mission. Personal financial readiness for Airmen is important when dealing with daily activities on and off-duty.
  • The Importance of building your community

    The 97th Air Mobility Wing celebrated their first “Up Day,” which focused on Airmen through messages about motivation, resiliency and health, Feb. 18, 2020. One of the guest speakers, military spouse Kristen Christy, had a message for Airmen.
  • “There is no shame in getting help, I did.”

    Heisman Trophy winner and former running back, Herschel Walker, talked about his experience with mental health when visiting the 97th Air Mobility Wing, Feb. 12, 2020. While here, he was able to host two talking sessions highlighting mental health through the Patriot Support Program.
