The 97th Contracting Flight welcomed leadership from Air Education and Training Command’s on location Air Force Installation Contracting Agency, to familiarize them with the 97th CONF mission at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, April 3, 2024.

Col. James Atchley, AFICC-OL director of contracting for AETC, along with Chief Master Sgt. Christopher Trevino, Air Force Installation Contracting Agency chief enlisted manager, Jonathan Bearce, AFICC/KT lead contracting specialist, and David Jones, AETC Contracting deputy director, held multiple group and one-on-one sessions with Airmen and leadership from the 97th CONF.

“We’re here to meet with squadron members to find out what my staff can do to help increase our support for contracting,” said Atchley. “We wanted to come out and talk to the team and ensure they have everything that they need in order to support the installation and the wing’s mission, and if they don’t, how we can work on those issues from our level.”

During the visit, the teams discussed mission priorities, goals, and contingency training plans.

“A major point within contracting is that we’re preparing to face any contingency,” said Airman 1st Class Angres Lugo, 97th Contracting Flight specialist. “If and when anything happens, we’re prepared to get supplies, services and construct anything at any time with high efficiency to support the mission.”
