Adapting after trauma and stress
Everyone faces trauma, adversity and other stressors throughout a lifetime. Always remember you have resources here to help you. Trauma is often associated with abuse, terrorism or catastrophic events, but it can also be caused by events less obvious, yet overwhelming to deal with. Mental health can be affected by trauma of any kind. By building connected communities throughout the Air Force, Airmen strengthen their ability to detect when stressors emerge in one another, and are better positioned to seek help early. The Mental Health Clinic, Religious Affairs personnel, Employee Assistance Program and Airman and Family Readiness Center all have resources available to those in need at Altus AFB.
