Civilian Firefighters Certify at Altus AFB Fire Department:

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Civilian firefighters from the southwestern regions of Oklahoma put on their bunker gear in preparation for firefighter certification. Firefighters from Clinton, Elk City, Hobart, Lawton, and Mangum trained at the Altus Air Force Base Fire Department June 14. Swim into the blue

ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. — The base swimming pool near the Family Community Center opened May 23 to all ID card holders and their families for summer 2009. Admission to the pool is $1.50 per day or $35 for a season pass. A two-person pass is $60 and $5 for each additional person afterwards, up to eight people. The pool is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lap swim is available Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Squadrons may reserve the pool for parties on Tuesdays by calling Outdoor Recreation.
