97 AMW ALZ Ribbon Cutting Published Jan. 15, 2019 97th Air Mobility Wing ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 97th Air Mobility Wing will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Assault Landing Zone (ALZ) on Altus Air Force Base on January 18 from 8:30-9:00 am. The ribbon cutting ceremony marks the reopening of the ALZ after being closed for complete reconstruction in June 2018. The ALZ was converted from asphalt to concrete which aids in ensuring the prolonged sustainment of high quality assault landing training operations at the 97th Air Mobility Wing for many years to come.The event is open to those with base access.
